Tyre Recycling with PPP Group

Proud to Transport to One of the UK & Ireland’s Leading Tyre Recycling Facilities

Recycled Tyres: Future Innovation; various applications shown

MWD Haulage Ltd is proud to provide the full tyre collection and transport service for PPP Group, one of the UK and Ireland’s most advanced and environmentally responsible tyre recycling companies. Every week, we transport over 10,000 end-of-life tyres (equivalent to 120 tonnes) from across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland to PPP’s state-of-the-art recycling centres.

This page explains what happens to the tyres after we deliver them  and why working with PPP Group supports a more sustainable future.

As PPP Group’s primary transport provider, MWD Haulage is responsible for:

  • Daily tyre collections from garages, fitters, and recycling centres

  • Cross-border haulage using walking floor trailers and adapted bin lorries

  • Reliable and compliant waste tracking from collection to processing

We’ve worked alongside PPP Group for many years and continue to support their mission to divert waste tyres from landfill and repurpose them through advanced recycling methods.

What Happens to the Tyres at PPP Group?

Transforming Waste Tyres Into Recycled Resources

PPP Group operates modern recycling facilities equipped with cutting-edge shredders, granulators, and separation technologies. Once tyres are delivered, they are processed through a number of key steps:

Rubber Processing

The cleaned rubber is processed into various usable forms:

  • Tyre-Derived Fuel (TDF): Used in cement kilns and industrial burners

  • Rubber Aggregate: For civil engineering and construction

  • Crumb Rubber: For artificial turf, playgrounds, or rubber matting

  • PAS107 Tyre Bales: For erosion control, drainage layers, and land engineering

Tyre Shredding

End-of-life tyres are mechanically shredded into smaller pieces, preparing them for further processing. The process is designed for maximum material recovery with minimal waste.

Granulation & Steel Separation

Shredded tyres are granulated into rubber chips and powders. At this stage, steel wire is extracted and separated for recycling into metal products.
